Can one improve on his/her English skills?

Personally, I feel that language is a subject that requires consistency in learning. You can only improve if you work hard for months, but you cannot do so in just a week or so. Hence, much effort, perserverance, and determination is needed to do well in this particular subject. Thus, it is possible to do well, and it eventually comes down to the amount of effort you put in.

Reading is not only a form of enjoyment, but can also help to extend one's vocabulary, and to aid the reader in forming good sentences. Naturally, you would be able to produce marvellous essays as you read another person's work. You might not realise it, but in the process of reading, the thoughts that you accumulated on a particular line or text, can actually help you to further develop your thoughts. Your essays would have better content, and your language will definitely improve.
